Most people have a love-hate relationship with social media, and Norwegian star Casper Ruud is no exception. Social media is rife with troll accounts and misinformation, and Ruud found it out the hard way, leaving tennis fans in splits.
Ruud fell for a piece of fake news on the social media site X recently. A parody account shared that renowned filmmaker Christopher Nolan would be back to direct a new Batman film. The film would star Christian Bale in the titular role.
The French Open runner-up expressed his skepticism about believing what he reads online. While he did want this to be true, unfortunately, it turned out to be false.
Is this true?😱🤯 I don’t believe anything I read anymore but please be true🙏 https://t.co/8AB3urn2Sy

Bale and Nolan formed an unforgettable director-actor partnership. They joined forces for the Batman trilogy, which changed the game for filmmaking, especially in this genre.
This slip-up from Ruud endlessly amused his fans, who teased him for falling for it. Many pointed out that he should have checked the handle of the page, while one user stated that the account was “playing with our feelings.” Here are a few reactions to the goof-up from Casper.
Parody account Casper 😢

Casper Ruud is one of the most well-loved personalities on the tour, and even fans love him to bits. And there is a good reason for it too, as Ruud often engages with them on social media.
Casper Ruud has an active presence on social media
The Norwegian is an avid user of social media, even if he sometimes hates it. He often shares snippets of his life with fans on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Casper uses X to share his views on a variety of subjects, including pop culture and sports. He even shared clips from the concert he attended a while ago. Ruud also has a separate account dedicated to golf.

Like other athletes, Ruud has also had to put up with the negative aspects of social media. “It’s a wicked place to spend too much time, I think. Because also reading about yourself is not really nice always,” he said (via Tennis.com).
Casper Ruud recently participated in the now-concluded World Tennis League in Abu Dhabi. He will make his way Down Under soon for the new season.
