Novak Djokovic triumphed over last year’s Roland Garros finalist, Casper Ruud, to win his 23rd Grand Slam title on Sunday (June 11). Numerous celebrities and top figures came forward to heap praise on the Serb’s victorious performance. However, a fellow tennis player decided to take a hilarious dig at the 36-year-old.
The player was none other than tennis ‘bad boy’ Nick Kyrgios. The Aussie took to his Instagram account to post about the 2023 Roland Garros winner. In the post, Kyrgios uploaded a picture of him with Djokovic on a clay court, where the two seem to be having a conversation.
Novak Djokovic having all of the biggest records in tennis is poetic justice.
Despite being unfairly villainized, detained and deported, banned from many tournaments, and robbed of ranking points, he stood by his principles and refused to surrender.
In the end, he won.

In addition to the post, the Aussie also penned a note for the 36-year-old. Nick Kyrgios called him Djokovic’s coach and sarcastically claimed that his advice helped the Serb capture his third French Open title.
“Congratulations @djokernole from you asking me for advice on the clay to again winning the French Open. Proud of you mate, I’m here anytime, love coach kygs” wrote Kyrgios on his Instagram post.

Thus, the hysterical post met with many funny reactions from tennis fans. Interestingly, Novak Djokovic also came forward and replied to the post. The Serb commented, “Same here brother. If you need any advice on grass, I am right here”.
Retorting similarly, the 36-year-old asked Kyrgios to ask him anything about the grass courts. Djokovic also took a shot at the Aussie following their most recent meeting at the Wimbledon final last year.
Nick Kyrgios is set to make his much-awaited return at the Stuttgart Open
After a seven-month hiatus from professional tennis, Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios is ready to make his return on the ATP Tour. Seeded eighth, the Aussie will start his campaign in the BOSS Open against China’s Wu Yibing in Round 32.
Kyrgios will be playing his first match since last October as he has to go through surgery in order to repair a small tear in his left lateral meniscus in January. Last season, the Aussie enjoyed a great time at the grass-court Major as he managed to reach his first and only singles Grand Slam final.
“The grass season for me is always the best part of the year. I’m super excited to be here again and to get out there and play the sport that I’ve been working so hard to get back to,” said Nick Kyrgios on Saturday.
Earlier this year, Kyrgios announced his withdrawal from the French Open because he wanted to prepare well before playing at the All England Lawn Tennis Club. Hence, the 28-year-old is really excited to make his return to professional tennis, especially at Wimbledon next month.
