Alexis Ohanian is most famous for his co-founding stance in the popular website, Reddit, which today is capable of turning any news into a sensational topic within minutes. The 39-year-old along with his college friend Steve Huffman pitched the idea of creating the website mentioned to become the front page of every news headline.
Ohanian however sold his company’s share in 2006 for a reported $10 million price and at the time was unaware of the financial lop-side it would have in the future, with its current valuation sitting at just over $10+ billion.
The American reportedly rushed towards making a sale of his share in Reddit back in 2006. He did it to lift the financial burden off his family as his mother was struggling with brain cancer.
Despite knocking his name from the company he co-founded, nearly 10 years later he was approached by Reddit to seat as the executive chair to help in its turnaround, a task which was successfully executed by the American as he lifted the company’s $10 million annual revenue to today’s $10 billion valuation.
