Carlos Alcaraz is one of the rising stars of tennis. At 20 years of age, Alcaraz has already won two major Grand Slams and is the current world number one. He is an absolute beast on the court, defeating top-ranked players like Novak Djokovic. But when he is not playing, Carlos is just a regular young boy, having fun with his friends.
His boyish disposition was recently captured, while Carlos had momentarily forgotten that he was being recorded. The funny incident occurred just before his clash with Tommy Paul in the quarterfinal of the Canadian Open.
In the behind-the-scenes footage, Carlos can be seen working out when a fellow player from Spain, Alejandro Fokina taunts him. How does Carlos respond? By flipping his middle finger of course!
This funny exchange showed how, despite being rivals on the tennis court, these players get along well off it. Fans, too, found this friendly rivalry between Alcaraz and Fokina wholesome.
A user commented that Alcaraz must be the least intimidating person since he was grinning while flipping off Fokina. Another user summed it up nicely. “Yup, grand slam winner, still pretty much a teenager when he’s off the courts and goofing around with friends,” they wrote.
Carlos Alcaraz has already become an accomplished player. His achievements speak for themselves, his latest title being Wimbledon. In all of this, it is very easy to forget how young he actually is.
Andy Roddick opens up about being shocked by Carlos Alcaraz
Carlos stunned everyone when he defeated Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final. Andy Roddick was no exception. The former world number one opened up about being ‘shocked’ because he did not think anyone could defeat Djokovic.
It was Alcaraz’s first Wimbledon final and he won, dethroning Djokovic in the process. Novak was the reigning Wimbledon champion, four years in the running and eyeing his fifth. However, Carlos put a swift end to his plans.
“I was shocked by the result of the men’s Wimbledon final. Two months ago, I don’t think anyone would have predicted Novak being beaten on grass,” said Roddick (via Tennis World USA).

At the start of the grass season, Alcaraz had admitted he did not have high expectations. But he won the title at Queens and followed it up with a win at SW19. It was remarkable because it was only his fourth tournament on grass.
After the final, Djokovic too gave credit where it was due. He finally met his match in Alcaraz. This Wimbledon final is one that will be talked about even in the years to come.
