Carlos Alcaraz, the Spanish sensation, is without a doubt making waves in the men’s circuit at such a young age. It became fairly clear during the grass season when he just accomplished the unfathomable by outperforming Djokovic, the seven-time Wimbledon winner. Djokovic dominated the Centre Court for ten years prior to their dramatic five-set encounter in the final event.
Jimmy Arias, a former No. 5 in the world and US Open semifinalist remarked that Carlos Alcaraz is superior to everyone including Novak Djokovic at his peak, and that it is the greatest he has ever seen. The American praised the Spaniard for fusing the strengths of the “Big Three.”
On the Inside-In podcast from Tennis Channel, Arias said: “Before the Wimbledon final, a couple people asked me and I said – and this maybe sounds crazy but – he (Alcaraz) at his best level is better than anybody else. He’s better than Djokovic, Djokovic can’t get to the level that Alcaraz [can].”
Jimmy continued by adding, “This is the best level I’ve seen – him at his best. I didn’t know if he was gonna be able to bring it in a Wimbledon final against Djokovic, but I did also know that he’d be more relaxed than he was at the French [Open]. The French was a strange situation for him because he’s playing a, at the time a 22-time Grand Slam champion, and he’s favourite, by a wide margin. And I thought that was a strange mental hurdle for him.”
With his victory in the US Open the previous year, Carlos Alcaraz established himself as the Next Gen’s public face. But it wasn’t until his outstanding victory against Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon that he finally established himself as the Big Three’s legitimate heir.
Carlos Alcaraz left Bianca Andreescu enamored as well
Carlos Alcaraz’s victory over Novak to win the Wimbledon has been hailed by Bianca Andreescu as a “huge inspiration”. She revealed how it “definitely motivates” her. The Canadian, who is ranked 44th in the world right now, hasn’t been able to claim a championship since her victory nearly four years ago. Her progress has been significantly slowed down by injuries.
Although the Spaniard also won the US Open last year, according to Bianca, winning Wimbledon is “different” and “another story.” Andreescu upset Serena Williams to win the US Open back in 2019. That win made her the second player after Alcaraz to accomplish this feat at the age of 19.
A lifelong dream! 🏆💚 You always have to believe! I’m only 20 years old, everything is happening too fast, but I’m very proud of how we work every day. Thank you everyone for your support, from the bottom of my heart! 🙌🏻😍 @Wimbledon

Speaking on TSN, Andreescu praised Alcaraz and his performance against Djokovic and how he handled the situation. “I mean, Alcaraz is poised throughout the whole entire match. That was his first-ever Wimbledon final. Yeah, the way he handled it was incredible. He definitely deserved that,” said the Canadian (via Yahoo News).
She added, “I mean, the athleticism I think is the first thing – I’m sure everyone can notice – from both of them. The way they, you know, just play around on the court. I mean, their rallies, on grass as well, are like 15, 20 plus [shots]. Like that’s insane,”
One of the most promising tennis players in the upcoming generation is Alcaraz. The young Spaniard rapidly adjusted to the surface despite having played only tournaments on grass, as Djokovic also observed. Carlos has talent, so it seems like the two of them will compete for the books.
