The WTA Finals are finally over after an exciting week of tennis. Iga Swiatek has once again established her dominance on the court and will end the year on a high note. In addition to the silverware, the Polish star will also take home a lucrative amount of prize money.
The total prize pool for this year’s edition of the WTA Finals in Cancun was $9,000,000. With Swiatek winning the championship against Jessica Pegula, she will take home $3,078,000. Iga has been in stellar form of late, and with this victory, Iga has shot up to the top of the rankings once again. Aryna Sabalenka had dethroned Iga after her US Open run, but Swiatek will finish the season as the world number one for the second year in a row.
Pegula had a great run at the tournament too. However, she could not stop the Swiatek juggernaut and lost 6-1, 6-0 to Swiatek. Jessica will take home $1,602,000 for finishing as the runner-up.

WTA Final debutante Marketa Vondrousova was unable to win any of her matches, and neither could Maria Sakkari. Both players will get $198,000 for their participation.
The WTA Finals faced a lot of criticism from players and fans alike. However, it ended well for Iga Swiatek, who has been playing extremely well.
