The name Stefanos Tsitsipas isn’t unfamiliar to the tennis world as in recent years he has burst through the ATP rankings and has stormed to the top ten in the world.

Embarking himself with a task to prove he can be the next Roger Federer, Stefanos is the highest-ranked Greek professional on the ATP Tour alongside WTA’s Maria Sakkari, who also hails from his native place Greece.

Popularly regarded as the ‘Greek God’ by the tennis community, Stefanos came close to clinching his first Grand Slam title by reaching the finals of Roland Garros 2021.

His championship run, however, was cut short by Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic. The Joker got the better of Stefanos after defeating him in a gruesome five-setter match where the Greek was leading two sets to none against the Serb.

Stefanos, carrying a significant amount of recognition and fame with him, is bound to get fans intrigued about his life off-court. More specifically, the relationship with his girlfriend Theodora Petalas.

The Greek God has been dating Theodora for over 3 years now, and despite keeping his relationship away from the spotlight like almost every famous personality, Stefanos has been vocal about his love life in various interviews.

Stefanos first confirmed his relationship in 2021. He confessed that he started dating Theodora 2 years before making the official announcement.

Who is Theodora Petalas, Stefanos Tsitsipas’ girlfriend?

Stefanos Tsitsipas’ partner Theodora Petalas, like the tennis star himself, was born in Greece and currently resides in London, United Kingdom.

As per the information gathered through her LinkedIn profile, Petalas works for a branding and marketing agency as a junior strategist and naturally, her career is poles apart and not in line with the tennis star.

Petalas pursued her higher education at NYU during her time of residence in New York and it is believed that’s where the couple met through family friends in 2019.

The Greek while revealing a few details about his relationship with Theodora in an interview said, “I liked her very much, but I was shy then and did not express my feelings. But two years ago, again in New York, I asked her out on a date.” (h/t via The SUN)

The couple has been in a long-distance relationship as Petalas resides in London and Stefanos is constantly traveling across the globe competing in the ATP Tour. But that doesn’t stop Theodora from occasionally turning up in the stands and cheering for the tennis star.

“She comes to some tournaments to support me and so we can spend some time together. She is my best friend. We talk every day, for two or three years now,” added Tsitsipas to the situation.

The 24-year-old Stefanos at present is performing at the Australian Open 2023 where he is due to perform in the quarter-final and seems enthusiastic to make his run for bagging the Melbourne championship.
