The WTA tour has been busy getting ready for the 2024 Australian Open. Players have been participating in the fun activities organized by the event organizers. Between all this rush, fans did not forget to remember the legends of the game. It has been more than a year since Serena Williams bid farewell to tennis. But Venus Williams has been preparing for her comeback in March this season.
Fans found an old video featuring the Williams sisters during their practice sessions. Venus was 12 years old in the video, and Serena, although a year younger, is considerably shorter than her sister. “They literally talk the exact same as they do now, especially Venus. OMFG, so cute,” commented a fan after watching the video. The Williams sisters were asked about their favorite shots.

Venus was quick to answer when Serena interrupted her. She politely asked her younger sister if she wanted to go first, and Serena whispered that she would go ahead. Venus then answered that it was her return of serve and her backhand. Meanwhile, Serena answered that it was her backhand down the line. It showed their commitment and expertise in the game at such a young age.
Venus Williams remembers hilarious Auckland story with Serena Williams
The Williams sisters dominated the WTA tour for a long time. It was magical when they were on the same side of the court as doubles partners. The powerful groundstrokes by the pair could not be counterattacked by their opponents. While remembering their time spent together on the tour, Venus recalled a funny mix-up during the ASB Classic event in 2015.
Venus pointed out that the ASB Classic tournament guide had put her name with Serena’s picture. Venus saw the confusion, and she said that she had added 15 more grand slams to her resume. The reference was to Serena’s grand slam tally. The 43-year-old posted a picture of the mix-up on her Instagram story while tagging Serena’s account.
Venus had won the 2015 ASB Classic while defeating Caroline Wozniacki in the final. She only dropped a single set on her way to lift the trophy. Five years later, Serena captured the same title and, similarly, only dropped a set the whole week. Both players have been an inspiration to the tennis world; their consistency and passing for the sport broke multiple records over the years.
