In 2017, Bernd Reichart moved to the German Television Channel VOX where he worked as a Managing Director for two years. The mastermind behind the ESL had finally reached his peak when he was announced as the CEO of RTL Deutschland, a German Media Company.
His illustrious career in some of the largest Media and Sports Management companies has earned him some handsome contracts. While no specific amount about his net worth is available on the internet, Reichart’s wealth is estimated to be in the millions.
Bernd Reichart’s journey as a media tycoon has earned him a lot of experience and contacts in the Sports industry. He has risen through the ranks successfully and knows about the efficient running of sports leagues. This might be the reason behind FC Barcelona and Real Madrid relying on the German for the ESL.
Bernd Reichart is the mastermind behind the creation of the European Super League
The German businessman has hatched a genius plan to revive the European Super League. The League was initially announced in 2021 but soccer fans heavily criticized it. The League returned to the public spotlight in 2023 when the European Court of Justice finally ratified it. A22 Sports Management and Bernd Reichart have worked hard to revamp the League’s structure.
The idea is to make the league more inclusive and accessible for both the fans and the club. The number of teams saw an increase from an initial 20 to 64. While Reichart has also made a huge announcement of making the League free-to-air for the fans.

A22 elaborated on the League’s objectives in a statement that read(via Sportstar), “This vision is based on extensive consultation with a wide range of football stakeholders across Europe and built on our core principles including participation based on sporting merit (and) no permanent members.
“Now that clubs can determine their own future at European level, we look forward to further engagement with a broad set of football stakeholders to achieve the objective of all great sporting competitions.”
Despite potential sanctions from UEFA, Bern Reichart has refused to bow down. The German seems very motivated to launch the ESL as early as 2025. While many European clubs have denied their intentions to join the controversial League, the German is still waiting to play his cards.
