Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-Min is primarily known for his infectious smile, his breathtaking pace, and of course, his knack for scoring goals. But a lesser-known fact about Sonny has all to do with his Hollywood career. More specifically, his associations to film industry heavyweights Marvel. The South Korean has made brief appearances in 2 Marvel films. And surprisingly enough, he became a part of the Marvel universe even before Deadpool himself – Ryan Reynolds.
When Son isn’t smashing in the goals, the 31-year-old is dropping cameos in million-dollar blockbusters. Well, at least technically. His first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe came in 2021’s Black Widow. The Scarlett Johanson starrer featured the forward in a blink-and-you-miss-it scene. It occurred as part of a sequence involving the characters of Johanson and Florence Pugh in a store.

His Marvel career didn’t stop there, as the Spurs star made a more direct appearance in the recently released ‘Spider-man: Across the Spider-Verse’. The sequel to 2018’s smash hit has raked in more than half a billion dollars. As for Son’s cameo, a poster featuring the Premier League star can be spotted during a scene inside Miles Morales’ room. Sporting a Spurs kit, the forward can be seen with the ball at his feet.
Besides being his second appearance in a Marvel film, the scene also suggests that Miles is a Tottenham fan.
Son Heung-Min pays tribute to Spider-Man with goal celebration
The South Korean actually has significant affiliations with the live-action Spider-Man himself – Tom Holland. In an interview segment with Son, the actor confessed to being a Tottenham fan. And by extension, an admirer of the 31-year-old. The forward even paid tribute to his connections with the character with a goal celebration.

Son debuted it during a Premier League match against Brentford. After tapping home a Sergio Reguillion cross, he executed a smooth knee slide. Following this, he replicated Spider-Man’s web-throwing gesture in front of the cameras.
