Two-time world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury recently revealed in an interview that his backroom staff is arranging for Manchester United legend and current manager of DC United, Wayne Rooney, to be involved in a sparring gig to help Fury prepare for his upcoming fight against Oleksandr Usyk.
“I spoke to Wayne last night and he’s well up for it. But he’s a right-handed person, so he has to switch up to be a southpaw, left-handed. So we’re going to bring Wayne in for preparation for Usyk.” This is what Fury said in an interview with talkSPORT.

The world of soccer, and specifically the English soccer fans, are familiar with Rooney’s love for boxing.
Former England forward Rooney even modeled a celebration on boxing as he would frequently run to the touchline to celebrate by throwing a couple of punches in the air, after scoring a goal.
The DC United manager had also previously come out with praises for Tyson Fury, via talkSPORT: I think he’s an absolute legend. I think what he’s done for boxing… he’s entertaining, his skills are incredible, his mentality is incredible.”
KSI reveals Wayne Rooney wants to fight him
Wayne Rooney loves boxing so much that it was recently revealed by amateur boxer KSI, that Wayne Rooney wanted to fight him.
During the press conference of the fight scheduled between KSI and Dillon Danis on 14th January 2023, KSI was asked an interesting question. In the reply to that question, KSI disclosed to the press that Wayne Rooney “hit him up” for a fight, but he turned him down. Even though Dillon Danis failed to show up for the presser, it turned out to be a newsworthy event with revelations such as these.
“It’s funny… I hope he doesn’t get annoyed that I said this but… Wayne Rooney hit me up being like ‘Oh we should fight’ and I said ‘No, I don’t want to do that'”
