The 28-year-old striker currently plays for Napoli after joining the Gli Azzurri in the summer of 2022. Gio has represented Italian clubs like Genoa, Fiorentina, Cagliari, and Hellas Verona since marching his way to Italy back in 2016.
However, Gio Simeone’s performance has been kind of a headache for the Italian side. After spending the last couple of seasons on loan, Gio has been given first-team opportunities this season. However, he has failed to make an impact on his performance so far.

He said, “Luckily I still have many years ahead of me on the soccer field and I hope to one day move to Spain. I hope that one day when I want to see my father, I won’t have to take a plane. If we talk about moving to Atletico, I would not want to play in this team. Understand that when your father is the coach, it is very difficult for you to join the team.”
“If they want to talk about the coach, and I’m there, I don’t know. It’s hard to join the team if you’re the coach’s son. It seems to me that this situation is simpler for the coach: if the son plays well, let him go on the field, and if not, then no,” added the 28-year-old Argentine.
Despite playing 13 Serie A matches this season, Gio has only scored one goal. He also has 1 Champions League goal to his name having played 5 matches for the Italian outfit.
