He attempted to provoke the Atletico Madrid bench by saying, “I am the ‘7’.”. Signifying he is the nightmare to Atletico Madrid as the iconic Real Madrid No.7 Cristiano Ronaldo was. In response to that Diego Simeone replied to the winger as well by saying, “Number seven, your mother’s c*nt.”
Atletico Madrid went on to win the match. The sparring between the two didn’t stop as they had a heated argument at the full-time whistle as well. When Diego Simeone was asked about the situation in the post-match press conference he said, “With Vinicius? There’s nothing to comment on. These are things that happen on the pitch.”
Both the clubs took a victory each across the two fixtures. It will be quite interesting to see what happens when they meet each other once again on February 5th, 2024, in a clash for La Liga.

Real Madrid is undoubtedly one of the biggest clubs on the planet. For sure it is something to be proud of and is a massive accomplishment as well. But De Paul had an answer to that as well. Being a current World Champion, he brought that situation into this scenario by saying, “I’m a World Champion, Who are you?”
