There have been constant queries about his return date from Real Madrid’s fan base. Also, various rumored reports regarding his return have been published in the last month or so.
A recent report by ‘Madrid Zone’ on ‘X’, inflicts that the Belgium international goalkeeper is expected to return by May 2024. As reported by ’90min.com’ the player recently stated his opinion regarding participating in Euro 2024. He asserted – “Due to the injury, there will be no for me anyway”. The goalkeeper said, “If I’m lucky, I can play another match in May. But then you can never be 100 percent ready for a big tournament”.
It can be inferred that the 31-year-old is targeting the month of May as his potential return to the on-field action. However, the current La Liga season for Real Madrid would be almost over even if he manages a May return. Nevertheless, fans would be pleased to know that the veteran player is putting up an expected return period. It gives the sign that he is recovering well from the injury.
