The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has recently released its list of top 10 soccer players in 2023. According to IFFHS’s list, Erling Haaland has been the best player of this year Kylian Mbappe, who won the Ligue 1 with PSG and reached the World Cup 2022 final, occupies the second position. Meanwhile, it appears as if Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t happy with his exclusion from the list. The Al-Nassr star, who is the highest goal scorer of this year, let his feelings known while commenting on a post about IFFHS’s list. Ronaldo wrote a series of laughing emojis and an emoji of a monkey closing his eyes. However, Ronaldo’s actions haven’t gone down well with the fans.

The soccer fans slammed the Portuguese ace for his comment which has now gone viral and has amassed more than 150,000 comments. One fan even criticized Ronaldo and wrote, “Still so insecure.” There were also comments like, “Manchild,” and “39 years old CRY BABY.” Another user wrote, “It’s actually impressive that a man so successful is also still so fragile.” Although curious, this incident has previously happened.
Cristiano Ronaldo mocked Lionel Messi’s eighth Ballon d’Or award
It has been the first instance that Cristiano Ronaldo has let his feelings on Instagram. The 38-year-old soccer star recently discredited Lionel Messi‘s eighth Ballon d’Or win rather publicly. Messi created history back in October this year by winning his record-extending eighth Ballon d’Or victory. On the other hand, Ronaldo missed out on the 30-man shortlist for the Ballon d’Or for the first time since 2003.
Following the Argentine skipper’s win, Spanish journalist Tomas Roncero, who works for Diario AS, released a video on Instagram attacking Messi. Reacting to the video, Ronaldo commented with a series of laughing emojis. The incident again went viral on the Internet and created a huge controversy. Lastly, Ronaldo had also similarly mocked Messi’s seventh Ballon d’Or win in 2021 with another controversial comment on Instagram.
