The move for Kevin de Bruyne has been heavily reported since 2023 summer but as per reports, the Belgium midfielder rejected the big-money move to SPL for more glory in Europe. Among the early favorites for the summer of 2024, Al-Nassr leads the race as the Riyadh-based club looks to link up the Belgium midfielder with Cristiano Ronaldo.
The news about the move comes at the worst time for Pep Guardiola, who is welcoming back the Belgium midfielder after a hamstring issue that has kept him out since August 2023. The midfielder was on the bench in the last fixture for the Manchester side, however, didn’t take part in the action. The creative midfielder might see some minutes against Huddersfield in the FA Cup on January 7.
Kevin de Bruyne’s current contract at Manchester City
Kevin de Bruyne’s current contract at Manchester City runs till 2025. He signed the latest extension back in 2021. The contract situation helps the case for the Saudi Pro League, as Manchester City might be interested in selling their midfielder in 2024 before losing him for free in 2025.
Kevin de Bruyne was untouchable at the start of this season, but these last six months have changed the situation. The midfielder has already missed 33 games this season and it is clear how well the midfielder will cope with this latest setback. The English club has coped well without the services of Kevin de Bruyne and might be looking to move on to bring in the next big creative hub of their midfield.
