- Mohammed Salah, who is having another season to remember for the Reds, faced an unexpected setback in the form of a hamstring injury.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool faced a recent blow after a piece of shocking news came to light regarding the availability of their star man, Mohammed Salah. Salah, who is having another season to remember for the Reds, faced an unexpected setback in the form of a hamstring injury.
Salah, who is currently playing in the AFCON for Egypt, left the pitch in the last game against Ghana following a hamstring injury. And this injury scare might have just put Liverpool’s title race in jeopardy.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has recently shared his stance on the Egyptian’s injury. Klopp said, “We don’t know anything. I spoke last night with him about how, with these injuries, you need further assessment. That’s what they are doing now, and then we will know more. Of course, it was in that moment a shock: ‘Oh my God, what is it?'”

“You couldn’t see that it was like [being] hit by something with high intensity; you couldn’t see [that], and then going down, you have these kinds of hamstring injuries in a different way, but he still felt it, and we all know how rarely Mo goes off or needs to go off, so there is definitely something and we will see. But I have no more information right now,” added the German mastermind.
It is for certain that Salah’s absence will haunt Liverpool for the next round of encounters. Salah is currently leading the goal-scoring tally in the Premier League with 14 goals and eight assists to his name. Liverpool are currently leading the Premier League table.
Egypt Coach Rui Vitoria thinks Mo Salah’s injury is not serious.
Egypt Coach Rui Vitoria has recently given an update on his star player’s injury. Mo Salah, who was forced to come off the pitch against Ghana, is suspected to have injured his hamstring.
However, Vitoria still remains optimistic, as he predicts it will not be much of a bigger problem. He said, “We don’t know yet what the problem is. I hope it’s not a big problem, but it was a problem in the first half.”

However, according to a recent report, Salah is on the verge of missing Egypt’s final group game against Cape Verde. He is also in doubt for the Round of 16 contest if the Pharaohs progress in the next round. The X-ray report states that the Liverpool winger had suffered a strain in the posterior muscle.
How can Liverpool operate without the availability of Mo Salah?
With the aim of winning the Premier League title after three years, Liverpool won’t leave any stone unturned following the resumption of the Premier League after the winter break. However, Jurgen Klopp will have a massive headache deciding his first XI without Mo Salah when they face Chelsea on February 1.

The Reds are expected to go with Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, and Diogo Jota upfront for the upcoming games. Dutch international Cody Gakpo also remains an option for Klopp, who could operate from the right wing. Greek international Kostas Tsimikas is also expected to be back in action after a shoulder injury.
Liverpool will be up against Bournemouth on Sunday, January 21, before facing Fulham in the Carabao Cup second leg on January 24. The Reds will then host Norwich City in an FA Cup encounter.
