Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a former Manchester United player and a club legend despite a short spell. The former United player responded to the supporters’ calls for Glazers to sell the team and to the club’s ownership. He was a big success, scoring 29 goals and dishing out 10 assists in 53 games at United. After his comment made during an interview with “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” the fan’s perception may change.
In response to the criticism coming from all sides, the 42-year-old spoke up for the Glazer family. Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund, and Mason Mount were eventually acquired by the team for more than $155 million, but the money came from fans, not Glazers.
The 42-year-old futher added, “So I think it’s a little bit wrong saying that they are not doing what the fans expect them to do, then I don’t know what the real reason is behind everything.” It’s extremely unprofessional for Sweden’s star to just question fans about the Glazers’ protest in their favor.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Manchester United’s narrow mindset
Zlatan Ibrahimovic joined Manchester United in 2016 from Paris Saint-Germain. When Zlatan was charged $1.22 for a fruit juice he purchased from a mini bar, he was astounded by the small mentality of the club.
“One thing surprised me: everyone thinks of United as a top club, one of the richest and most powerful in the world, and seen from the outside it looked that way to me,” he writes. “But once I was there I found a small, closed mentality.”
Zlatan joined the team one day as they prepared for a game in the hotel. He opened the mini-bar and drank some fruit juice because he was thirsty. They had fun and then headed home. A while has gone. His pay stub materialized. The 42-year-old does this just at the end of the year to evaluate what has come in and what has gone out. But that time, he became intrigued and learned that they had cut his pay by one pound every month.
🗣Zlatan Ibrahimovic on his time at Man Utd,
“They made me pay £1 for a fruit juice, I wasn’t on holiday. It was my work place. I was there for Manchester. If I have to play and I’m thirsty, I have to drink. I can’t go on the pitch dehydrated.’

He gave the team manager a call. After taking a peek, the team manager informed him, “It was the fruit juice from the mini-bar.” Are you serious, are you kidding? I’m not, you see. You have to pay for any orders you put here. Zlatan did not decide to go to the hotel by himself. He wasn’t on vacation; it was his place of job. The former striker for Manchester United was in attendance for Manchester. Because he had to play and was thirsty, he chose to drink. He can’t play on the field because he is dehydrated.
“Can you believe it? A quid? Something like that would never happen in Italy. These are the details that make a difference and earn the respect of the players.
“Every day I was asked to show my papers just to get into the training ground. I’d lower my window and say to the person at the gate: ‘Listen my friend I’ve been coming here every day for a month. I’m the best player in the world. If you still don’t recognize me, you’re in the wrong job.’”
Zlatan helped United clinch the League Cup, Europa League, and Community Shield during his tenure at Old Trafford. Despite being one of the richest teams in the world, the 42-year-old was amazed by how the club functioned on a daily basis.
