Jordan Mainoo came into the spotlight in the 2019 edition of the hit dating show, Love Island. The British reality star was thrust into the discussion among soccer fans recently when a section of fans realized the star’s connection with Manchester United.
A Manchester United fan page tweeted and revealed that United’s academy graduate Kobbie Mainoo and Jordan Mainoo are brothers, which came as a shock to some sections of the fans. The academy product of the Premier League side is indeed the younger brother of Jordan. The brotherly connection is not mainstream knowledge, as the two brothers work in two completely different worlds.
Jordan Mainoo has been in the limelight since 2019 with Love Island. The British star has moved on from the show to focus on high fashion on social media. He has worked with brands like Sky, Tom Ford, and Jean Paul Gaultier. He made his runway debut back in February 2023 for Vogue and has been flourishing like his little brother.

Kobbie Mainoo caught the eyes of Manchester United fans in the pre-season in July. After a return from injury, Mainoo impressed the fans and experts on his first Premier League start against Everton. The British center midfielder has made six appearances this season for Manchester United at different levels. For the senior side, Mainoo has made two Premier League appearances and one in the UEFA Champions League.

Mainoo made his first start for the Under 18 side of Manchester United back in 2021. The occasion was a proud moment for the family, as evident by the tweet from his brother, Jordan Mainoo. The Love Island star took it to X (formerly Twitter) to tweet: “Proud Big Bro Moment Fr.” The tweet was one of the rare incidents when Jordan showcased his love for his brother on social media.
Manchester United introduced Kobbie as a creatively outstanding Stockport-born midfielder. The graduate of Cheadle & Gatley junior soccer club raised eyebrows and scored twice in United’s run to the 2022 FA Youth Cup final.

The midfield has played 184 minutes in the Premier League with an 88% passing accuracy. The midfielder has shown promise at only 18 years of age. There are many changes expected at Manchester United after the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, which can increase Kobbie Mainoo’s prominence at the base of the midfield at United.
The future looks bright for the Mainoo brothers, as the elder brother is one of the rare few contestants of Love Island who have managed to remain relevant after exiting the show while the younger brother can be the next midfield star at the biggest club in England.
