It all occurred after City lifted the only title missing from their cabinet, and earned the honor of ‘European Champions’. They did so by defeating Inter Milan in a tightly-contested final, courtesy of a goal from midfielder Rodri. The Citizens also completed an illustrious treble in the process, having already won the Premier League and FA Cup titles.
The victory brought a great deal of relief to the Blue half of Manchester, who previously suffered UCL heartbreaks at the hands of Real Madrid and Chelsea. Naturally, the win led to rapturous celebrations at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium. And at the center of it, all was Manchester City’s goal machine, Erling Haaland.
The Norwegian has been a relentless force for City this season, and his mere presence in the side has helped them finally clinch the Champions League. Needless to say, he featured prominently during merrymaking that followed after full-time. He also shared a lovely moment with his teammate Phil Foden‘s son, Ronnie.

The 4-year-old was born in 2019 to parents Phil Foden and Rebecca Cooke and he has been adored by fans ever since. During the UCL celebrations, Ronnie ran up to Haaland with a skip in his step and offered up a hilarious comment. Chock-full of energy, the 4-year-old popped up in front of the striker, who immediately exclaimed “Ronnie!”.
In response, Ronnie said, “Haaland! I thought you were a girl” A bemused Haaland could only say “Did ya?” in response, before ‘El Wey’ darted off to somewhere else. The wholesome moment has since gone viral online, as has Ronnie Foden’s special nickname.
Why has Phil Foden’s son been nicknamed ‘El Wey’?
The nickname was coined on account of Ronnie’s energy and infectious positivity. Upon transition, ‘El Wey’ literally comes out as ‘the dude’. The 4-year-old earned the moniker by turning into an online sensation.
His public appearances with his father were a major reason behind this, as they became viral TikToks and even memes. Ronnie’s popularity also escalated because of his sheer cuteness, something that fans simply cannot get enough of. In particular, South America seems to be enamored by the kid.
The discovery was made after this viral clip of Ronnie’s face hung atop a whiteboard at a university in Mexico emerged online.
