Premier League side Arsenal’s former midfielder Robert Pires has criticized Neymar Jr. and Lionel Messi for their comments on their tenure while playing for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). It can be understood that Pires is disappointed with the behavior of the players after departing the club.
Pires, during an interview with a French outlet, said, “I call that being cry-babies… Being a soccer player means withstanding the pressure”. His statement inflicted that, as a player, you are appreciated for every good performance, but sometimes you are not, and that’s part of the game.

The former attacking midfielder said that during his time at Arsenal, he went through the same phase but kept his mouth shut. Pires has shared the pitch with Messi and holds the Argentinian high on his list of good players.

Earlier, the Brazilian star Neymar came out with the statement that he and his friend Lionel Messi didn’t have a great time while representing the Ligue 1 club. In fact, Neymar said that they “lived through hell”. The Brazilian represented Paris Saint-Germain for a total of six seasons. At the same time, Messi played two seasons for the French side. On these occasions, there were certain instances of PSG’s fans not being happy with the duo’s performance.
In 112 appearances for PSG, Neymar had 82 goals and provided 50 assists. While the five foot seven inches of soccer heaven, Messi has seventy-five appearances for the French club with thirty-two goals and thirty-five assists to his name. The Argentinian joined PSG after his exit from Barcelona completing an enormous twenty-one-year spell at the club.

Neymar joined the Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal in August 2023. Messi became part of the Major League Soccer side Inter Miami in July 2023.

Lionel Messi came out with the statement, “I didn’t want to leave Barcelona for PSG”. It was clear from his statement that it was not all roses between him and PSG. Messi further added by saying, that his move from Barcelona to PSG was not in his plans and it was more due to the financial woes of the club.

According to reports, the former Barcelona star struggled to adapt to the city. Leaving this all behind as of now Lionel Messi is really happy after Joining Inter Miami. The Argentinian says joining Miami has turned out to be a pretty good move for him.
Messi credited his family with helping him make the decision to move to the United States. It is no secret to anybody that the all-time great player is really enjoying his current stint at Major League Soccer club Inter Miami.
