Al-Nassr goalkeeping coach Guido Nanni has come out with immense praise for star attacker Cristiano Ronaldo. The Italian coach said in a recent interview that Ronaldo is an absolute all-rounder. He manages his off-field life as impressively as he trains on-field.
Nanni, a former AS Roma goalkeeping coach, spoke to bianconeranews.it. He was asked, “in terms of approach and mentality, is he [Ronaldo] still the same champion as ever or did he land in Arabia just to spend the winter?”
Nanni responded, “not at all! Ronaldo is a champion, he doesn’t give up an inch in training and in managing his life off the pitch. He is mechanized to win. He’s an extra stimulus for his other teammates too. He’s a total war machine”.

After spending his playing career in Italy, Nanni started his goalkeeper coaching career almost two decades ago with Lazio U19. He went on to coach AS Roma and Pescara before finally moving out of Italy and joining Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr. He joined Al-Nassr in July 2022 and has a one-year contract with the club.
Guido Nanni believes Cristiano Ronaldo is still playing top-level soccer
Another question Nanni was asked in the same interview was: “How do you judge the level of the Saudi championship? When Ronaldo chose Al-Nassr he was subjected to several belittling…”
Nanni responded with praise for the Saudi league. He said, “the technical rate is much more competitive than what is said. They have played at a high pace and every challenge shouldn’t be underestimated. We need to prepare everything tactically in the minute details”.
Nanni does not believe the criticism Ronaldo is getting for moving to Saudi Arabia. Soccer fans infer that Ronaldo’s move to the middle-east sees him playing a lower level of soccer. However, Nanni has defended the Saudi league.

Ronaldo and Al-Nassr are living happy days in the league. They are leading the table with Ronaldo firing in front of the goal like in the old days. Al-Nassr is unbeaten in their last five games. The club has scored 14 goals in those five games and Ronaldo has been involved in 10 of them. He was adjudged February player of the month in the Saudi Pro League.
The Portuguese scored a late equalizer in a 2-2 draw against Al-Fateh. He scored four in a 0-4 win against Al-Wehda and assisted two in a 2-1 win against Al-Taawoun. He scored another hat-trick in a 0-3 against Damac. In their latest league match, however, Ronaldo was involved in neither of the three goals. Al-Nassr won that match 3-1 against Al-Batin. Al-Nassr top the table with 46 points, two more than their closest rivals Al-Ittihad.
