Portuguese defender Diogo Dalot has cheekily taken a chance with the fury of Cristiano Ronaldo after cleverly savaging the legend on Instagram. The former Manchester United colleagues are presently together on International duty for Portugal planning for the Euro qualifiers against Slovakia, Bosnia, and Herzegovina.
The 5-times Ballon d’Or winner left Manchester United in 2022, while the Portuguese fullback remains an integral part of the club. After a controversial interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo was kicked out of the squad by Erik ten Hag. Along with the manager, Cristiano also hit out at the club’s youngsters saying, “They don’t listen. They don’t care. They’re not going to have longevity in their career.”

However, he cited his compatriot Dalot as one of the three stars who are playing for the badge and fighting tooth and nail to restore United’s former glory. Meanwhile, this summer Dalot claimed that United’s squad would have been happy for the goal-machine to stay. He said, “We know the quality that Cristiano brings, it was a mutual decision to take different paths and we just have to accept it.”
The fullback seemed to have a poke at the now-Al-Nassr and Portugal team captain with a quick snap and shared it on his Instagram story along with a light-hearted message mocking his senior colleague’s past remarks. Dalot wrote, “This new generation is always on the phone.” However, there hasn’t been any reply from Cristiano regarding this Instagram story.

Portugal will be in Euro 2024 qualifying action against Slovakia on Friday, before then confronting Bosnia and Herzegovina next Monday. Those games will give Ronaldo a chance to add to his record-breaking assortment of 201 caps and 123 goals for his country.

He also revealed that it was a joy for him to play alongside Cristiano as he has helped him a lot. Although there was some personal advice that Dalot didn’t reveal. The most learnable thing about Ronaldo is his discipline. He said that one can be consistent, but he can be consistent in a bad way, and Cristiano was disciplined and consistent in a good way.
