Has any manager, post Ferguson and Wenger been as deeply entwined in a club’s culture as Diego Simeone is at Atletico Madrid?
I can’t imagine them without him in the dugout, dressed head to toe in black, a ball of nervous shit-housing energy from the first kick to the last. https://t.co/pGZhxPTjgV

Simeone has established Atlético Madrid as one of the three biggest clubs in Spain, alongside FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. He has led the club to two La Liga titles during his time, which makes them the third most successful club in Spain in the 21st century.
Simeone also oversaw the club during a critical phase of the club when their current stadium, Metropolitano Stadium, was under renovation. He kept them competitive during the period, and post-renovation ensured the financial stability of the club by working with a thin squad.
Diego Simeone makes Atlético Madrid an attractive destination for future signings. The fans will be relieved that they can keep their legendary manager for three more seasons.
