Gareth Bale was also asked (as per the above-mentioned ‘X’ post) – “how did you know that?” by the Journalist. The former Real Madrid forward expressed – “Once we went to China and played a charity match, I dribbled the same player 3 times and found him in front of me”.

Agent of Gareth Bale states the reason behind the former Wales international’s fallen China transfer
The agent of Gareth, Jonathan Barnett recently stated the reason behind his client’s fallen transfer to the Chinese Super League. Jonathan reportedly asserted – “Gareth got an offer that was impossible to refuse but Real wouldn’t sell him”. The Britain-based soccer agent further inflicted on what happened.
Jonathan expressed – “The Chinese club then couldn’t pay what Real wanted as a transfer fee”. On whether the player really wanted to go to China, Jonathan stated – “Yes he wanted to leave a legacy and help make football shine there”. Gareth’s agent also revealed that his move to the China League would have crowned him as the “highest-paid player” at that time.
It can be inferred from the statements given by Jonathan Barnett, that the stage was almost set for his player to move to China. However, the Los Blancos halted the transfer desired by Gareth himself. The La Liga club asked for an even greater sum of monetary figures than what was offered to them.
