Relevo reported that the Italian manager has extended his current contract with La Liga side to 2026. Ancelotti’s contract was set to expire in the summer of 2024 which raised speculations that the Italian manager might move away from the Spanish side, however, the board of Real Madrid has taken action during this winter break in Spain to resolve the future of their manager.
Ancelotti rejoined Real Madrid in the summer of 2021 after a disastrous spell with Everton. Since rejoining the Spanish side for his second stint, Ancelotti has impressed the Los Blancos faithful with six major trophies, including a La Liga and 2021/22 UEFA Champions League.

Ancelotti was also linked with the Brazilian national team when the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) announced that the Italian manager would lead the team in the upcoming Copa América 2024 in the USA. As per Forbes, Real Madrid contacted Ancelotti for clarity, who cleared up that no agreement with Brazil was in place at that time.
Real Madrid has opted for stability by renewing the Italian for another two years. Ancelotti has managed to lead his side to the top of La Liga even with long-term injuries to key players of the squad. The current season speaks well for his capabilities and experience at the top level.
Carlo Ancelotti’s salary with Real Madrid
The Italian manager is one of the most decorated managers in history, with 25 major trophies to his name, including four UCL titles with two different clubs. The Italian is currently employed in one of the biggest clubs in the world, if not the biggest.
Both of these factors help Ancelotti’s case in earning big wages at the Spanish club. While it isn’t reported whether Ancelotti will be getting a hike after his current contract extension. However, as per L’Équipe, Carlo Ancelotti earns around $12.2 million (€11 million) per season at Real Madrid.
Ancelotti has managed Real Madrid for 240 games in all competitions in two different stints. He is only behind the legendary Miguel Muñoz in terms of most games managed for Real Madrid. Muñoz took charge of Real Madrid for 14 seasons, which included 595 matches in all competitions.
Ancelotti might not be able to beat Muñoz in that list but can draw level with Zinedine Zidane for the manager with the most UCL titles with Real Madrid. The Italian currently has two UCL titles with Real Madrid, while Zidane won three back-to-back UCL titles.
Carlo Ancelotti will be back in action with Real Madrid on January 3 when they host Mallorca in La Liga. They are currently the joint leaders of the Spanish league with Girona on 45 points. They have a healthy lead of seven points over FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid going into the second half of the season.
