Al-Nassr President, Musalli Al-Muammar resigned as the president of the club earlier today. As reported by Saudi Gazette, the former Saudi-based club’s president has submitted his resignation letter to the Ministry of Sports. This comes as no surprise as Musalli Al-Muammar was under great pressure from the fans to resign from his post.
It is understood that Al-Nassr fans are furious as the team has been in dreadful form lately. Cristiano Ronaldo‘s Al Nassr have dropped continuous points in the league, enabling title rivals Al-Ittihad to form a 3-point gap over Al-Nassr, with a game in hand as well. Furthermore, the Riyadh-based team has been knocked out of the domestic Saudi King’s Cup as well. The team suffered a 0-1 defeat at home against Al-Wehda in the semi-finals.
🚨ELIMINATED! Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo’s team, has just been eliminated from the Kins Cup.

The Ronaldo-led team has been knocked out of all the domestic competitions apart from the Saudi league. And now going 3 points behind Al-Ittihad in the race for the Saudi Pro League has just added fuel to the fire.
This eventually led to Musalli Al-Muammar resigning as the president. It is expected that the club’s secretary general will take over as a temporary president before setting up a date for holding the general assembly for the election of a new president before the end of the current season.
How has Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent form for Al-Nassr been?
While the team has struggled collectively, Ronaldo’s recent form has been poor as well. A goal drought for the soccer icon in the past 3 games has not helped Al-Nassr overcome their struggles. The Portuguese star has been involved in controversy as well as he reacted angrily towards the club staff after suffering a frustrating defeat in the semi-finals of the Saudi King’s Cup.

Surprisingly, this is not the first time Cristiano Ronaldo has stormed off in this way. Last month he was seen kicking water bottles out of his way as his team lost 0-1 in a very crucial match against Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League.
The 5 times Ballon d’Or winner’s last chance of silverware this year rest on the league. Al-Nassr will host Al-Raed up next in the league as Ronaldo looks to seal the title in his debut season with the Saudi club.
