The vice chairman of the Saudi Pro League board of directors has made a stunning revelation about Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar Jr. Ronaldo and Neymar recently joined the Saudi Arabian clubs Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal respectively. However, the truth behind Ronaldo and Neymar Jr’s mouth-watering contracts has been finally revealed.
Speaking to Kora Ratana, Saad Al-Laziz, the vice chairman of the Saudi Pro League, revealed that Al-Nassr didn’t spend a penny to sign Cristiano Ronaldo. It appears as if Al-Nassr is not paying Ronaldo’s reported $200 million annual salary. Saad Al-Laziz explained, “Al-Nassr did not pay any dollars to sign Ronaldo.” It turns out that the recruitment program of the Saudi league has been paying the big bucks.

The Saudi Pro League recruitment program was initiated before Cristiano Ronaldo arrived in Saudi Arabia. The program grants a lumsome amount of money to each club to attract the biggest talents in soccer. Al-Laziz further explained that the only negotiations that the ex-Manchester United star engaged in were about his move to Al-Nassr.
Not only Cristiano Ronaldo but other stars like Neymar Jr., Karim Benzema, Riyad Mahrez, Marcelo Brozovic, and so on. Almost all of these players have been offered massive contracts that would have financially been difficult for a single club. Currently, there are rumors of Saudi Arabia being interested in signing the Egyptian and Liverpool soccer star Mohamed Salah.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s basic yearly salary at Al-Nassr is around $75 million, and the rest he will earn from his commercial and image rights deal. In the meantime, Neymar Jr. signed a two-year contract with Al-Hilal worth $300 million which could rise to even $400 million due to the commercial deals. In addition to this, the Brazilian will also allegedly receive a luxurious mansion, a private jet, and a fleet of luxury cars.
