Following Berrada’s appointment, Manchester United issued a statement announcing his arrival which has been emphasized by United’s new owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe. United stated that it’s pleased to appoint the former City chief, who has also worked as the club’s CEO. Berrada will replace the former Manchester United CEO Richard Arnold, who left the club in November 2023.
Dan Ashworth’s achievements
Dan Ashworth has built up an impressive resume with his time and experience at West Ham, Brighton, and Newcastle United. Ashworth has been responsible for Newcastle’s big-name signings this season, with the club spending over $165 million in the summer transfer window. However, Newcastle has been struggling this season, in the Premier League, and has been eliminated from the Carabao Cup and the Champions League.
Moreover, Ashworth has also previously worked as FA director of elite development. He has also spent a short time as a professional soccer player, playing for teams like Norwich City, Eastbourne Town, St. Leonards, and Wisbech Town. However, it has also been reported that Newcastle United is not keen on letting Ashworth go to United and will try to re-sign him.
