SUMMARY
- Premier League history is more than 30 years old.
- Two players from the 20th century made the list.
The Premier League is more than 30 years old. In the illustrious history of this competition, many right backs have graced the competition in different decades. While many right-backs have played in the league, only a handful have truly made their mark in this competition.
This list looks at the top four right back in the history of the Premier League. Some players couldn’t make the list but deserve the honorable mentions. Players like César Azpilicueta for Chelsea, Lauren for Arsenal, and Pablo Zabaleta for Manchester City came close but couldn’t stand tall with the upcoming four players who have better statistics and longevity.
Lee Dixon for Arsenal
Lee Dixon was a reliable pillar in the defensive back-line of Arsenal. The Arsenal legend played for 15 years for the club, in which he made 619 appearances. In the Premier League, he made 305 appearances for Arsenal and helped the side win four English titles.

Dixon was known for his sharpness and positional sense. He scored 28 times for the London side, which included some impressive long-range efforts. The attack-minded full-back flourished under Arsène Wenger when he took charge in 1996. Lauren retired in 2002 as the fourth most appearance maker for the London club.
Trent Alexander-Arnold for Liverpool
Trent Alexander-Arnold comes next in this list with an attacking output that isn’t matched by none. The English right-back has been with Liverpool’s senior side since 2016 and already has recorded 57 assists in the Premier League. The 25-year-old has also scored 14 goals in the Premier League, and it wouldn’t be shocking if he ends up at the top of this list by the end of his career.
Trent Alexander-Arnold turns 25 today! His record for Liverpool so far:
• 279 games
• 16 goals
• 73 assists
• 121 clean sheets
• 7 trophiesOne of the best Premier League RBs ever 🔥 What’s your favourite moment from him as a Liverpool player? pic.twitter.com/FqQm6f0m6t

Trent Alexander-Arnold has won only one Premier League title with Liverpool, which holds him back in this list. But his attacking output and impact on the position in the modern game justify his inclusion in the list of the best right back in Premier League history.
Kyle Walker for Manchester City
Kyle Walker has cemented his legacy in the Premier League with five Premier League titles with Manchester City. The English international joined Manchester City back in 2017 after six impressive seasons with Tottenham. Walker has made 383 appearances in the Premier League and continues to impress under Pep Guardiola.

Walker has surpassed every expectation at Manchester City since Pep Guardiola took over. He continues to be an important figure for Manchester City at the age of 33 years old and might win another Premier League title at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Gary Neville for Manchester United
Gary Neville stands top on this list with his eight Premier League titles. Even Walker with the super side of Manchester City is still three behind the legendary Neville. The right-back was one of the graduates from the Class of 92 at Manchester United and went on to play in the Premier League for 19 seasons.
Neville was vocal and had great attributes that made him one of the leaders of the dressing room. The right-back retired from the sport in 2011 after making 398 Premier League appearances. The longevity and the trophy cabinet put the Manchester United legend top of the list of the best right back in Premier League history.
