USMNT star Christian Pulisic is all set to join Serie A giants AC Milan. The Chelsea forward reportedly agreed personal terms with the Rossneri a week ago. And during the following days, the two clubs reached an agreement on transfer fees. The 24-year-old will depart Stamford Bridge after spending 4 years at the club.
His spell with the Blues is best described as a mixed bag. Pulisic’s Chelsea career began in underwhelming fashion, before catching fire during the lockdown fixtures. For a brief period, the American was Chelsea’s talisman and most important player. He was even handed the No.10 shirt by Frank Lampard – the number previously held by club legend Eden Hazard.

The USMNT skipper continued to impress in flashes but failed to stitch together a consistent string of form. Unfortunate injuries curtailed his progress at every step, leaving Pulisic with a dismal goal tally of just 26 goals in 142 appearances. Chelsea attempted to offload the player during last year’s transfer window. They reportedly presented a proposal to AC Milan, which involved a transfer fee plus Christian Pulisic in exchange for Rafael Leao.
The Rossoneri rejected the offer immediately but maintained their interest in the forward. Milan’s latest approach for Pulisic appears to have been accepted, with the clubs landing on a reported fee of $23 million. The American will travel to Italy to complete his medicals on Thursday.

As for his contract, Pulisic is set to take a salary drop by earning $4.4 million annually. In comparison, the 24-year-old netted $9.1 million per year at Chelsea. His weekly wage in Milan is estimated to be around $85,000. The contract itself will keep Pulisic at the club until 2027.

The salary hit likely won’t affect the American too much, as he will still rake in a handsome sum through brand deals alone. Hailing from the US, it is only natural that the forward sponsors multiple American brands. From Chipotle and Gatorade to his hometown chocolate brand Hershey’s, Pulisic’s remains extremely marketable in the US.

Besides these, the USMNT star also endorses EA Sports’ popular Soccer simulation games. On the field, Christian Pulisic represents Puma. He inked a long-term deal with the sportswear manufacturer in 2021, making him the brand’s face in the US. Since signing with Puma, Pulisic has also received his very own signature collection.
