In the modern world, soccer is developing with advanced technologies and evolving to be fast-paced. The Premier League is known to be the #1 league in all of the soccer leagues around the globe. What sets the Premier League as the top league in European soccer is its physical aspect, the difficulty for the players to score more, and its internal competitiveness.
Many strikers have put up praiseworthy performances for their respective clubs in the past. The likes of Didier Drogba, Harry Kane, Wayne Rooney, and Sergio Aguero are prime examples of it. Still, the name that tops the goal-scoring chart in the Premier League is Alan Shearer.

Shearer was promoted to the first team after spending two years with the youth squad. He made his professional debut for Southampton in 1988, coming on as a substitute in a First Division fixture at Chelsea. He scored a hat-trick, helping the team to a 4–2 victory against Arsenal, thus becoming the youngest player at 17 years, 240 days to score a hat-trick in the top division, breaking Jimmy Greaves’ 30-year-old record.
With the Premier League only 16 months old, there wasn’t much talk of overall records. Shearer’s achievement was barely mentioned at the time. Over the next decade or so, the legend grew along with his goal tally.

In 1992, Shearer joined Blackburn Rovers. He was subjected to an English transfer record-breaking $4.3 million bid. Although Sir Alex Ferguson showed interest in him, Rovers were quick enough to land him at Ewood Park. He spent four years there, which included 112 goals in 138 Premier League appearances. He won the Premier League in 1994–95 with Blackburn Rovers.
Alan Shearer signed for his boyhood club, Newcastle United, in 1996. He spent a total of 10 years there, which included 148 goals in the 303 Premier League games he played. He eventually won the UEFA European Championship Golden Boot in 1996, playing for Newcastle United.

On the whole, including that spell toward the beginning of 1992-93, Shearer has held the out-and-out record for scoring most goals in the Premier League for 10,978 days, in addition to 33 as a joint record-holder. His total of 11,011 days puts him way ahead of the next best, Sheringham, with 273 days. Shearer has been the main scorer-joint or all together for 97.61% of the Premier League’s presence.
In terms of goals, he leads the tally with 260. He is followed by Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur and Wayne Rooney from Manchester United with 213 and 208 goals, respectively. In December, Alan Shearer will celebrate 30 years as the Premier League’s outright record goal scorer.
🔵🇳🇴 Haaland on Alan Shearer PL goal record: “How long is my contract? Three years and 10 months left? So, there is still time to do it, no?”.
“But if I will still be 15 years longer in England then why not? We will see…”, told Telegraph. pic.twitter.com/ln5pRhzKiQ

Erling Haaland was asked if he could break the goal-scoring record of Alan Shearer in the Premier League in an interview. He replied in a rather joking manner. “How long is my contract? Three years and 10 months left? So, there is still time to do it, no?” Haaland said. Moreover, he added that if he could stay in the Premier League for 15 years, then he could probably achieve the feat.
Alan Shearer offered to personally escort Harry Kane out of the Premier League
In this year’s summer transfer window, it was rumored that Harry Kane could potentially join Bayern Munich. Alan Shearer facetiously expressed that if Harry Kane needs to join Bayern Munich this mid-year. He would personally drive him there to safeguard his Premier League goalscoring record.

Speaking to The Athletic, Shearer said, “If Harry wants to join Bayern, I’ll drive his f**king car there myself; anything to protect my Premier League goalscoring record of 260 – Harry is on 213.” Shearer accepted that Kane, who is moving toward his record of 260 goals, is fit to outperform him regardless of whether he joins Bayern Munich or occasionally gets back to Britain in the future to complete his vocation.
