Ons Jabeur recently made history after she became the first African tennis star to be ranked as high as number 2, just before she played her first-round fixtures against Mirjam Bjorklund in the Wimbledon.
Ons has had a good 2022 season since she has severely risen in her ranks and also had a chance to partner up with the best female tennis star, Serena Williams in the Eastbourne International double tournament.
Unfortunately, Ons had to withdraw from the Eastbourne Internation tournament as a precaution due to discomfort in her knees in the semifinal match. In the presence of tennis stars such as Iga Swiatek and Serena Williams, Ons really seems determined to leave her mark and is in contention for winning the Wimbledon Championships as well.
Ons’ husband who also serves as her fitness coach recently revealed that she is extremely hardworking and even during the practice sessions she does not want to miss a single ball and is focused on her movement as well.
All of these preparations have made their impact and she won the first-round fixtures at the Wimbledon without losing any sweat.
Ons Jabeur breezes past Mirjam Bjorklund to win her Wimbledon Opener
The first-round fixture of Ons with Mirjam was clearly a one-sided match to witness. Ons not only won the match in an effortless way but also did not even drop even a single-serve while playing against her opponent, Mirjam Bjorklund.
Monday Ons point. 😃@Ons_Jabeur does not drop serve in dispatching qualifier Mirjam Bjorklund, 6-1, 6-3, to take her #Wimbledon opener.

She won the match with a 6-1, 6-3 in order to win her Wimbledon opener. Ons had reached the quarterfinals in the Wimbledon 2021 and would be aiming for a higher position this year around.
She will either be facing Rebecca Marina from Canada or Poland’s Katarzyna Kawa in order to enter the last 32 rounds.
Ons has improved drastically as compared to her playing style and positioning last year. Her movement has become more fluid and her serves have become more accurate as well. She could surely be the one to challenge the domination of Iga Swiatek in this year’s Wimbledon.
