Nick Kyrgios is one of the most outspoken tennis stars which lands him in a lot of controversies. He was back at showing his fiery side in the post-match press conference of Wimbledon.
At this point, Nick can be considered a controversy magnet, he has had controversy follow him in the Australian Open as well as the Miami Open. And things surely have followed him to the Wimbledon 2022 as well.

His controversy started after he criticised the line judge after he lost his cool after losing his first set to his opponent, Paul Jubb.
He referred to the line judge as a ‘snitch’ and claimed that the line judge did not have any fans. He also hammered the ball away out of the court in the earlier stages of the match.
The already eventful clash got more controversial after more details were revealed about Nick’s conduct during the match. Nick confirmed the fact that he spat toward the fans since he claimed that they had been disrespectful to him.

Nick Kyrgios eventually went on to win his first-round match, however, he had to play the fifth set in order to reach the second round of the Wimbledon. In his post-match conference after his victory, the Australian made an arrival in front of the media with a box of sushi.

He kept on eating the sushi while answering the questions asked him. He was asked about his action of spitting toward one of the fans. On this, he stated that,
“In the direction of one of the people disrespecting me, yes.
“I would not do that to someone who was supporting me.”
He further claimed that there was a lot of disrespect he was being thrown at from the crowds. He felt that this conduct should not be normalised him.
“I don’t owe that person anything.”

He felt that it was pure disrespect after someone commented that he played like s#@t. He went on his rant by calling the line judge an old man for missing a clear decision.
A lot of tennis fans considered his action of eating sushi very disrespectful. He has been criticised several times before for his attitude.
