Roman Reigns is arguably the greatest champion in the current era of professional wrestling. Ever since he adopted the Tribal Chief persona, Reigns has been on a completely different level than other WWE superstars. The Head of the Table has also been holding the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship for nearly 1000 days now. Moreover, the title reign has been unstoppable even after countless hurdles in the way.
Furthermore, his family faction, The Bloodline has been dominating the WWE scene for almost three years now. The members of the family Jimmy and Jey Uso also dominated the tag team division before eventually losing the tag titles at WrestleMania 39. The Usos and Solo Sikoa are also responsible for Roman Reigns still holding the title. As their interferences have helped secure the defense on countless occasions.

As of now, the Tribal Chief is steadily heading toward the 1000-day mark. And also joining the list of legends such as Hulk Hogan, etc. Speaking of the year 2023, fans thought Reigns was probably going to lose to either Sami Zayn at Elimination Chamber or to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39. However, none of them was the case, as Roman is still reigning supreme as the Undisputed champion.
Ever since the Raw after Mania 39, the Tribal Chief has been away from WWE TV and is not scheduled to defend his Undisputed title at the upcoming Backlash PLE as well. Amid Roman’s absence, Triple H also announced a brand new World Heavyweight Championship to crown a new champ other than Reigns. Nonetheless, the Undisputed champion is rumored to defend his title after the Backlash PLE.

On the other hand, there is Bobby Lashley, who never competed for Reigns’ title in these three years as well. Hence, The Almighty could be one of the next challengers. Although there are other worthy names on the SmackDown roster such as Austin Theory, and Karrion Kross as well. However, AJ and Bobby seem to be more credible names going for the title.
Meanwhile, Reigns is set to appear on SmackDown after Backlash. Therefore, fans could find out the next man set to challenge for the Undisputed title. The Night of Champions PLE in Saudi Arabia is rumored to be the next event where Roman will be defending his title. The Saudi event is also the last hurdle before the 1000-day milestone for Roman as champion.
