UFC welterweight fighter Jorge Masvidal is set to fight Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 on April 8. Masvidal, who currently occupies the 11th rank, will face the 5th-ranked fighter, Burns. So it is quite natural that Masivdal may very well earn a title shot with a win this Saturday. Masvidal has a lot of history with the current champ Leon Edwards and it looks like something similar is brewing between him and Kevin Holland.

Ahead of the official press conference for UFC 287, Jorge and Kevin Holland got into a heated argument backstage. But the security separated the pair before things got physical. In the UFC Embedded series for the upcoming PPV, Kevin mocked Masvidal and labeled “The Street Jesus” as somebody who sucker-punches people. During their first altercation, Holland also predicted that Burns would defeat Masvidal.
Manager reveals why Kevin Holland and Jorge Masvidal had a second altercation
While many were present during their first altercation, the second one flew under the radar. However, TMZ managed to get a hold of the video and released it on their YouTube channel. While Kevin Holland is not visible in the frame, Jorge could be seen pointing at someone in an animated fashion, presumably Kevin. A small group of people was also present in the scene, trying to hold him back.
A shirtless Masvidal almost seemed too strong for them as he almost escaped their grasp. While it was unclear who Jorge was targeting at first, Holland’s manager Oren Hodak gave some clarifications on the matter. In an interview with TMZ, Oren revealed that Holland apparently asked Masvidal, “Sup, baby girl.” It ticked off Gamebred who seemingly wanted to fight Holland on the streets of Miami, where the weigh-ins took place.

Aside from Holland, another person also reportedly yelled at Masvidal and added, “You’re a clown.”
There has been a sense of tension between Jorge and Holland right from the beginning of the fight week. Even during the press conference, the two had a brief but heated verbal exchange. It looks like a fight between Holland and Masvidal is imminent down the line.
Neither Masvidal nor Holland is a stranger to brawling with other fighters. “The trailblazer” had a heated confrontation with Khamzat Chimaev on UFC 279 pre-fight press-conference day, which led to the cancelation of the event.
Masvidal, on the other hand, currently has a restraining order against him after allegedly assaulting Colby Covington. Gamebred also had a fist-fight with Leon Edwards in London after his bout against Darren Till.

The BMF champ is currently on a three-fight losing streak and all of them came against the former undisputed welterweight champ Kamaru Usman and the former interim title holder, Colby Covington. Hence, the 38-year-old would be desperate to get back to winning ways. Kevin Holland, on the other hand, is coming off losses against Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson and Khamzat Chimaev.
Depending on the results, Kevin may turn out to be Masivdal’s next opponent. Do you want to see the fight happen? Let us know in the comments down below.
