- In a recent interview with The Score, Cody Stamann opened up about his horrific experience with a drug-testing officer from the USADA.
In a surprising series of events, the UFC has finally decided to cut all ties with USADA. The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has been the UFC’s long-time drug-testing partner. Following the controversy with Irish fighter Conor McGregor, the UFC has severed all ties with the USADA. However, following the severance of ties, a UFC star has revealed a rather shocking incident with a drug testing officer.
In a recent interview with The Score, American fighter Cody Stamann opened up about his horrific experience with a drug-testing officer from the USADA. Stamann revealed how one night he opened the door with a gun in his hand to a rather shocked drug-testing officer. To further add to the officer’s bewilderment, Stamann was also not wearing any clothes.
Eventually, Stamann let the officer inside his house and put down his gun upon the officer’s request. The officer further added that he had started just a week ago, and Stamann was only the second fighter he had tested. Nevertheless, the bantamweight fighter felt bad for scaring the relatively inexperienced officer. He said, “I never saw the guy again. That had to have been a terrifying thing for him: a naked man pulling a gun on you“.

Stamann also disclosed how the drug-testing officer’s hands were trembling while he was signing his name on a tablet. Although, despite this unfortunate incident, almost every UFC fighter has been relieved at USADA‘s exit. Currently, UFC president Dana White has contracted Drug-Free Sport International for the collection process that started in January 2024.
UFC Fighter Paulo Costa breathes a sigh of relief after USADA exit
Meanwhile, Brazilian MMA star Paulo Costa is probably the happiest person on earth following USADA’s exit from the UFC. Unfortunately, Costa holds the record for being the most-tested fighter by the USADA in 2023. According to MMA Junkie, Costa was tested as many as 36 times between January 1 and December 26 last year.

Following Dana White’s decision to sever ties with USADA, Paulo Costa shared his feelings on his X (formerly known as Twitter) account. Costa wrote on X, “I don’t miss USADA/ byeeeee.” The 32-year-old fighter also doubled down on mocking USADA in the comment section of his post. Paulo stated that the USADA should also take out the “ugly jackets,” with them. The jacket is given to athletes who have achieved a clean test of 50 and are considered an achievement.
