SUMMARY
- Former UFC fighter Michael Bisping reacted to comments made by Kellogg's CEO Gary Pilnick.
- Pilnick's comments were met with outrage all over America.
Former UFC fighter Michael Bisping has spoken out about Kellogg’s CEO’s comments that have caused an outrage. According to Kellogg’s CEO, Gary Pilnick, consumers should begin picking cereals for dinner.
Kellogg’s marketing campaign comes at a difficult time for the average American consumer. People have had to spend significantly more on groceries than they used to. Amidst this, Pilnick has asked Americans to choose cereal for dinner and let “chicken take a break”.
Pilnick’s comments have received outrage on social media. People have accused Pilnick of wanting people to consume his products for dinner while he earns from them and enjoys a better lifestyle.
Bisping, a former UFC Middleweight fighter, has also joined the bandwagon. He took to his Instagram account and posted a Story about Pilnick’s comments. He captioned the Story, “Don’t eat cereal at all!!!”
However, this is not the first time a UFC commentator and Kellogg’s have had differing opinions. In 2009, Joe Rogan expressed his discontentment with Kellogg’s in an open letter. At the time, Kellogg’s fired Olympic gold medallist swimmer Michael Phelps after he was pictured allegedly using drugs. Rogan was not pleased with Kellogg’s action and wrote an open letter on his blog.
Fans were left outraged by Kellogg’s CEO Gary Pilnick’s ‘cereal for dinner’ comments
In an interview with CNBC, Pilnick said, “The cereal category has always been quite affordable, and it tends to be a great destination when consumers are under pressure. We are advertising about ‘cereal for dinner’… If you think about the cost of cereal for a family versus what they might otherwise do, that’s gonna be much more affordable,” he added.

According to the Guardian, consumers have had to “spend about 26% more on groceries in general since 2020.” Pilnick was asked if his remarks could “land the wrong way.” Instead, he doubled down, saying: “In fact, it’s landing really well right now. Cereal for dinner is something that is probably more on trend now, and we would expect [it] to continue as that consumer is under pressure.”
Fans were not having any of it. One fan on X mentioned how this was a marketing tactic to make his company richer. They wrote, “Bro, doesn’t care about your money being saved or your health he just wants you to buy his cereal to make him more money.”

One fan gave his own translated version of Pilnick’s comments, “translation. eat more cereal to keep me rich.”
