Alexander Volkanovski vs. Yair Rodriguez is freshly in the books. The two competed for the UFC featherweight title. And while the focus was on the main card, the prelims, and early prelims also featured some exciting fights. So we take a look at the UFC 290 purse and payouts and see how much the fighters have earned from the event.

It’s no surprise that Volkanovski, Rodriguez, Moreno, and Pantoja made a lot of money. They not only competed for titles, but they will featured in the main and co-main events of a PPV show during international fight week.

Alexander Volkanovski, the present featherweight champion, has been a destructive machine since stepping foot inside the octagon. He is 12-1 in the world’s largest promotion, with his only loss coming when he went up in weight to become a double champ against Islam Makhachev, making him 12-0 in his featherweight weight class.

Volkanovski faced Yair Rodriguez, who was dangerous everywhere, in one of his toughest fights as the featherweight champion. Ultimately Volkanovski proved to be too good for Rodriguez and win the bout via KO/TKO stoppage in the UFC 290 main event. The ref stopped the bout at 4:19 minute mark of round 3 and completed his 5th title defense. Hence the fans expected him to be compensated handsomely for hid efforts.

Let’s have a look at the fight purses of the fighters competing in UFC 290.

How much did Alexander Volkanovski and Yair Rodriguez earn at UFC 290?

As per reports from The Sports Daily, at UFC 290, the UFC is expected to pay over $3.4 million in salaries, incentives, and bonuses. Alexander Volkanovski and Yair Rodriguez were the two of the biggestattractions on the card. Hence, their fees also reflected their position on the card.
