Three-time Coach of the Year award winner Trevor Wittman is considered to be one of the greatest coaches in MMA. Wittman trains at ONX Sports in Denver, Colorado, and has trained some of the most famous fighters in the UFC.
He has worked with several legends and is currently training the likes of Justin Gaethje, Kamaru Usman, Rose Namajunas, and more. While Trevor is one of the most highly revered coaches, fight fans question some of the things he does.
Trevor Wittman has a habit of smiling from ear to ear every time his fighter is hurt. The same also follows when one of his fighters loses their bout. While the fighter might be overcome with sadness and defeat, Wittman will be seen smiling beside him.

The odd behavior has puzzled many fight fans and several have called him twisted in the head. ” Trevor Wittman is smiling watching Justin getting wobbled, what a sicko lol,” tweeted one of the fight fans. By now his smile has become an object of fascination and many look forward to catching a glimpse of Trevor smiling in the corner.
Regardless of the outcome Wittman wishes only the best for his fighters and trains them the same. With Justin Gaethje fighting for the BMF title this weekend, fans will be looking forward to seeing Wittman smile yet again.
Justin Gaethje’s coach Trevor Wittman explains why “The Highlight” is the closest thing to gladiators
UFC lightweight fighter and former interim champion Justin Gaethje is known for his violent fighting style. Although Gaethje is a Division I NCAA wrestler, he prefers more brawling in his fights. Gaethje has also earned the nickname Highlight by fighting several wars inside the octagon.

The Highlight also happens to be the third-ranked fighter in the division and has gained 11 post-fight bonuses in his career. With his violent combat style and acceptance of chaos in the octagon, Gaethje’s coach, Trevor Wittman, believes Justin Gaethje is one of the closest things to gladiators.
Trevor Wittman has been a three-time Coach of the Year winner and has worked with several MMA legends. He has trained with GSP, Jon Jones, Stipe Miocic, Kamaru Usman, and many more, making him one of the most famous coaches in the industry. Despite working with some great technicians, Wittman believes Gaethje is truly one of the most unique fighters he’s worked with.
“In the locker room with Justin Gaethje, he’s a unique guy. He makes the coaching job very fun, his lack of fear and his excitement to fight is one of a kind. He’s the closest thing you can get to an old-school gladiator,” said Trevor Wittman.
Wittman will look forward to adding another title to Gaethje’s name as he trains him for the BMF title. Justin Gaethje will go toe-to-toe with Dustin Poirier in the main event of UFC 291. Who do you think will become the next BMF? Leave your answers in the comments below.
