Sean Strickland has raised concerns about his appearance at UFC 297 after he was spotted bleeding in a recent video. UFC Middleweight champion, Strickland, was bleeding from his ear throughout the video posted by Nina Marie Daniele.
Strickland and Nina have built up a fantastic online presence. Fans love watching content created by both the content creator and the fighter. In a recent video uploaded by Nina, she learned MMA from Strickland. The American fighter teaches her how to spar. He also talks about his journey into the MMA industry. However, amidst all this, Strickland’s left ear was bleeding non-stop.
Previously, videos surfaced of Strickland draining blood from his cauliflower ear. According to WebMD, “Cauliflower ear is a deformity of the ear caused by blunt trauma or other injury, as you might get during a boxing or wrestling match.”
However, his cauliflower ear and the injured ear in the video do not seem to be connected. Surprisingly, no one mentions the reason for his bleeding ear in the video.
The video also included the pair promoting Strickland’s new merchandise. Strickland’s t-shirts contained some questionable quotes. One of the quotes said ‘Let’s make Canada great again 2024’. This was in connection to his first title defence at UFC 297 in Canada which now seems to be in trouble.
Is Sean Strickland’s title defense at UFC 297 against Dricus Du Plessis in trouble?
Strickland defeated Israel Adesanya at UFC 293 to win the middleweight title against all odds. He is scheduled to take on Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 297 at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada. However, several doubts have been raised over this bout.
Strickland’s bleeding ear could pose a threat to the fight. Although it did not seem serious as Strickland continued with the video casually, he did mention that he was sick.
Moreover, Strickland is also under the threat of arrest. Du Plessis recently revealed that UFC CEO Dana White asked him if he wanted to press charges against Strickland after their UFC 296 brawl. The South African denied the offer so that it would not cause any issues to their upcoming bout.
On the other hand, Strickland recently threatened to stab Du Plessis if ‘Stillknocks’ mentioned Tarzan’s rough childhood. Strickland claimed he would do it during the press conference or weigh-ins and risk going to jail. Strickland’s actions could ultimately cause the bout to be canceled.
