After becoming The Honorary Uce in The Bloodline, Sami Zayn became one of the top stars of WWE. Thus, when he attacked The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns at Royal Rumble, several plans were discussed about his future.

However, he eventually got back with best friend, Kevin Owens and they defeated The Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team titles at Night 1 of WrestleMania 39. However, the popular superstar was not a part of WWE’s events that took place in Saudi Arabia until 2022.

Despite being a pivotal part of The Bloodline, he was not allowed in the nation because of his ethnic background. Zayn’s father as well as mother, were Syrian immigrants. Consequently, because of his Syrian background, Sami Zayn was also pulled out of The Greatest Royal Rumble as a way to “respect the local culture in Saudi Arabia.”

Because of political reasons, the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Syria has always been strained. However, the two nations have tried to make their relationship better in the last few years with rapprochement talks.

Zayn was also asked a few questions about why he’s not allowed in Saudi Arabia. To which he replied by saying that he is not interested in going anywhere to perform. He also addressed the deal WWE signed with Saudi Arabia.

“I don’t know. I don’t know the specifics of this. To this day I didn’t really ask because I wasn’t really keen on going anyway. But WWE did a thing, a partnership or signed some sort of deal to put on these shows in Saudi Arabia for I don’t know, what? 10 years or something like that, and I just wasn’t invited to go and I never really dug into it too much because I wasn’t keen on going, to begin with…” Sami Zayn said.

The actual reason behind Sami Zayn not being able to wrestle in Saudi Arabia was never disclosed. Nevertheless, in the 2023 Night of Champions that took place in Jeddah, he was present and even defended his title against the team of Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa in the main event.

What did Sami Zayn say in Arabic before the Night of Champions main event?

As Sami Zayn made his way toward the ring, he got an extremely warm reception from the Arab crowd. Thus, he decided to flaunt his multi-lingual skills by snatching the mic from the ring announcer. After taking the mic, Zayn introduced himself and his tag partner, Kevin Owens in Arabia. Consequently, every single word that he uttered received a massive pop.

The translation of what Sami Zayn said in Arabic: “Calm down. Calm down. Calm down. Pray to the prophet. We’re in an Arab country. We have an Arab champion. We’re gonna do this in Arabic. Introducing the Prizefighter. (Now in English) Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.”
