The current stars on the ATP have managed to play a handful of matches against the big three in tennis. Few of them came up on the tour after the retirement of Roger Federer. While Novak Djokovic has played with most of the stars, Rafael Nadal has played with few due to his continuous absence from the tour. The big three share 66 grand slam titles with each other.
Andrey Rublev is one of the few players to have beaten the top stars in the game. Rublev was talking to Christopher Eubanks and Diego Schwartzman in Frankfurt during UTS in September. Schwartzman was impressed that Rublev had beaten the big three and said, “Bravo Rublo!, I think not many players have that stat.” Rublev even remembered that he had beaten Federer at Cincinnati.

The Russian had a smile on his face as Schwartzman playfully hit him. Eubanks also mentioned that he was a commentator on the match where Rublev beat Djokovic. He said, “At the Novak tennis center, the final, 6-0 in the third set, bagled him.” Schwartzman went on to say that even he wanted to complete the milestone just like Rublev.
Andrey Rublev vs. Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer
Rublev has 71 matches this year and has won 50 matches. He has qualified for the Nitto ATP Finals for the fourth consecutive year. The world No.5 captured his first Masters 1000 title this season at Monte Carlo in April. Rublev has slowly become one of the most consistent players on the tour. His winning streaks have enabled him to beat the top players in the game.
The 26-year-old beat Federer in straight sets in the fourth round at the Cincinnati Masters in 2019. It was their only meeting on tour. Rublev then beat Nadal in the quarterfinals at Monte Carlo in 2021. It took him three matches to win a set against the Spaniard. The next big victory came in 2022 at Belgrade, Serbia, where he beat Djokovic in the final and even bageled him in the third set.

Apart from the big three, Rublev has also beaten Andy Murray once in two matches. He beat Murray at Rotterdam in 2021 while only conceding seven games in the match. Rublev’s next mission is to win a grand slam title and then enter the top three in rankings. In a few more months, the fans will see Rublev lifting bigger trophies on the tour.
