SUMMARY
- The Wizards have been open to trading Kyle Kuzma for two first-round picks.
- The Wizards are currently experiencing one of their worst seasons.
Kyle Kuzma has just become the next big name in the player’s market ahead of the February trade deadline. The Wizards have certainly had an extremely disappointing run so far going 7-33 before the midway point for the regular season. They have been trying their best to make pivotal roster changes, but they still lack a leader on the team. This has been an issue since the 2023 off-season after they lost Bradley Beal.
The Wizards also got involved with the Golden State Warriors during the off-season. GSW shipped Jordan Poole to the Wizards and received Chris Paul. Poole has been averaging 17.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game beside Kyle. This isn’t his best numbers but has helped the Wizards on many occasions.
Much like most of the teams that are currently dipping their feet in the player’s market right now, the Wizards are also seemingly interested in a rebuild. So far, they haven’t benefitted from having a young roster. Maybe giving up Kyle Kuzma could get them assets to use in the future.
The Wizards have named their asking price for Kyle Kuzma
As mentioned earlier, the Wizards are certainly looking for assets to rebuild soon. According to Michael Scotto of Hoopshype, the Wizards are currently looking forward to receiving two first-round picks from any team that is interested in acquiring him.
Scotto said, “Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma has drawn exploratory trade interest from several teams around the league.” Scotto stated that several teams missed out on the opportunity to acquire Indiana Pacers newbie, Pascal Siakam. The same teams that were targeting the 2x NBA All-Star are now interested in Kuzma.

Scotto added, “The Wizards would need future first-round picks beyond the 2024 draft with the potential to become lottery picks to consider parting with their best player.” The Memphis Grizzlies, San Antonio Spurs, and Warriors have been the top suitors for a trade. All three teams require a big that can score the ball.
This season, Kyle Kuzma has been averaging 22.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. This has been his best scoring season yet as he also shoots 45.6% from the field. Kuzma could reach All-Star status in a better situation. Or he could be used in various ways to help him reach that level as well.
