Sports knows no boundaries and a recent video that is taking rounds on social media has proved that WWE fans can love soccer too. The heart of many soccer enthusiasts, Manchester United went against its equally competitive Arsenal at the MetLife stadium in Florida. Despite Manchester winning the match with a score of 2 – 0, WWE fans made Omos the star of the stadium.
The United Stand shared a video on Twitter where Omos “The Nigerian Giant” and his manager MVP met the Manchester United manager, Eric ten Hag. Nobody had expected that Omos was a soccer fan. Even Eric gave a very unexpected look at the WWE star. However, the twenty-second collaboration clip was a treat to the viewers.
“I don’t wanna fight with you,” said Eric as soon as he saw the 7 ft 3 in tall giant. However, Omos broke his character and seemed to be in a giddy spirit as he denied making any move on the United manager. Instead, he went ahead to praise him and told him that it was his privilege to meet him.
The fans couldn’t hold back their excitement at the encounter and expressed themselves on the platform saying, “So MVP is also a red devil? Man we are massive” or “Ten hag tag teaming with Omos, the most Vince McMahon things I’ve ever thought off.” One Twitter user went ahead to say, “‘I do not wanna fight with you’ Boss don’t worry you’ve got LICHA”. Another fan Tweeted, “MVP is a proper United fan. None of the celeb buffoonery. Good to see him so respectful towards the gaffer.”
Omos’ WWE manager MVP was also present alongside The Nigerian Giant. Eric’s face brightened up after seeing MVP in a Manchester United jersey. As the two managers shook hands, they exchanged words of laughter and lightened the atmosphere of the match that stretched to the penalty shootouts. However, it was a great day indeed for Eric ten Hag, perhaps Omos was his lucky charm.
What’s next for Omos and MVP in WWE?
It has hardly been 3 years since the WWE giant stepped into the main roster of the Stamford-based promotion. Despite being a tag team champion with AJ Styles, Omos is best known for his extremely tall height and personality. The former basketball player last appeared in the ring at WrestleMania 39 where he faced Brock Lesnar but was defeated by the Beast Incarnate.
After WrestleMania 39, Omos is nowhere to be seen in either of the brands of the company. It hasn’t been long since he hinted at trying a shot at Roman Reigns for the title. However, the plan hasn’t been put into action till now. Speaking on the K 100, WWE veteran – Disco Inferno said that the former basketball player isn’t a perfect fit to be WWE’s regular performer.
With all this being said, only time will reveal what is next in store for the Omos. Will Omos be turned into a permanent performer or will he make a surprise entrance at WWE SummerSlam that is hardly a fortnight away?
