Former Universal Champion Braun Strowman’s second stint in WWE does not seem to be going according to plan. The Monster Among Men seemingly started on a high note when he returned on the September 5, 2022, episode of WWE RAW. Strowman then went on to face Omos at Crown Jewel and has since been languishing in the tag team division along with Ricochet. It now seems things have gotten worse for the former world champion.
According to PWInsider, Braun Strowman has suffered an injury. Mike Johnson from the outlet reports that Strowman may have suffered an unspecified injury. One of the outlet’s sources also stated that the former Universal Champion may need to undergo surgery. He seemingly suffered a concussion in late April but was cleared to return to the ring a week later. It now seems that the star had some other issues as well.

While he last wrestled on the May 1, 2023, edition of Raw in a tag team win alongside Ricochet against The Alpha Academy, it seems that his return may not be coming soon. According to the same report, Strowman is set to be out of action for the foreseeable future and has apparently been removed from the board with regard to creative plans. He is reportedly on the disabled list.
Braun Strowman got backstage heat following controversial comments
Following his victory against Omos at Crown Jewel last year, it was also reported that Braun Strowman got into hot waters backstage thanks to his antics on Twitter. The outspoken star was in the middle of a giant push, but that got seemingly derailed following his bout against Omos in Saudi Arabia.
The match between the two behemoths was not well regarded backstage and even led to poor reviews from fans. Taking to Twitter, Strowman seemingly took a dig at rival company AEW and the star system that several journalists, most notably, Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, use to rate matches. He also went on to state that nobody cares about “flippy floppers,” a comment seemingly aimed at high-flying wrestlers.

According to Fightful, Braun Strowman seemingly garnered major backstage heat following his antics. While the company was aware of his good behavior behind the scenes, his social media antics did not go down well. The comment was later deleted by Strowman which led to it being referenced on TV by Ricochet. The high-flyer eventually formed a tag team with the former world champion. It remains to be seen whether the team will continue after Strowman returns from injury.
