UConn Huskies’ superstar Jordan Hawkins made his decision to participate in the 2023 NBA Draft after winning the NCAA title. The baller was a strong competitor from the get-go and often posed a threat to opponents. His game is very unpredictable, but in a good way, as he can switch between offense and defense with ease. This is exactly why Jordan is considered as a top recruit in college basketball as well.
Jordan Hawkins hails from a basketball royalty family as many of his relatives have played college basketball in the past. Most of his relatives were amazing players as well. He happens to be related to Angel Reese. Both players brought a good name to their families after bagging NCAA titles for the men’s and women’s divisions. Despite representing universities of different states, both individuals have put Maryland back on the map.
Jordan Hawkins stands at 6″5 feet tall, which is just under the average height of NBA players. He would definitely make a perfectly well-rounded shooting guard or small forward. Such players often blow up within a year or two of their NBA careers. His wingspan extends to probably almost 6″10 feet, but it is unknown what his actual measurements are. Besides that, he weighs in at 195 lbs.
Which team will draft Jordan Hawkins?
Jordan Hawkins averaged 16.3 points per game along with 3.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists during the NCAA’s recent campaign. Hawkins played a key role in UConn’s victory. He has a very smart basketball mind and possesses the ability to read the court well in order to set up good shots. The baller is also an exceptional shooter from deep, which would place him much higher as an NBA recruit. The game has become offensively reliant and Jordan fits the bill.

Currently, Jordan is expected to be drafted in the latter half of the first round. Despite the projection, he can still be a solid pairing along with any superstar. Most odds have him drafted by an Eastern Conference team. If he gets drafted within the first 20 picks, the Lakers might end up taking him as the 17th selection of the draft. He could also end up on the Pelicans, Rockets, or Heat as well.
If the Lakers acquired him through the draft, Jordan will have a great rookie season being mentored by the King, LeBron James. And if LA somehow becomes a title contender, it would work out very well for the rookie. The same goes with the Heat and Pelicans, in fact, as both teams are already playoff contenders.
