Over his 20-year career in WWE, John Cena has had many rivalries. Whether it be against The Rock, Triple H, or the Austin Theory, Cena has always had great things to say about his opponents. The 16-time world champion has also had a memorable feud against one other legend, Edge. The Hall of Famer and Cena locked horns on several occasions, with both stars giving it their absolute best.
Cena and Edge had their first singles match in 2006, where the Rated-R Superstar emerged victorious. Over the years, the two stars have fought on numerous occasions in tag team and singles bouts. They have also fought over the WWE title when Cena dethroned Edge and for the tag team titles. Due to their storied history, John Cena has opened up numerous times about his formal rival. “I just hope everyone watching knows just how gifted, caring, and amazing Adam [Copeland] is. He’s a good human being, he’s a great human being. He loves sports entertainment. He has given so much to you guys [fans], and I also think he is aware of what you [fans] have given him,” Cena said.
The 49-year-old made his debut in WWE on June 16, 1997, and has never looked back since then. He went on to team up with his old friend Christian Cage as the two ran roughshod over the tag team division. They eventually won 14 world tag team titles, out of which seven were with Cage. The Rated-R Superstar also has 11 world title reigns, five intercontinental title reigns, and one United States championship reign. He, unfortunately, retired in 2011 due to a neck injury before returning in 2020.

The two superstars are at the tail-end of their careers, and one final showdown could tear the house down.

Edge has already hinted that he may be hanging up his boots at the end of the year, while John Cena has also stated that his body does not allow him to wrestle anymore. A final rivalry between the two legends could see them ride off into the sunset in style.
