Jaylen Brown is one of the stand-out players for the Boston Celtics and continues to perform well every season. Not only in the Boston Celtics but also in the NBA in general, he is one of the astute personalities who has made a big name in the league.
In July 2023 he signed a contract extension with the Boston Celtics worth of a whooping $60million a year. Brown is only the second player in the history of American team sports to ink a deal worth at least $60 million a year, following Damian Lillard of Portland, who in 2022 inked a two-year deal worth slightly more, at $60.9 million a year, before moving to the Bucks.

Future NBA pay caps will determine the ultimate worth of the deals involving Brown and Lillard. The current numbers are projections derived from the anticipated caps. The next set of TV contracts, which begin during the 2025–2026 season, will raise the NBA salary ceiling.
Jaylen Brown well and truly seized his opportunity and for the Celtics to hold him in such high regard speaks about his status in the team. He is one of their main players on the roster alongside Jayson Tatum and has a huge ceiling above him in the NBA in the future.
Is Jaylen Brown the highest-paid NBA player?
Per Shams Charania, Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics reached a five-year, $304 million supermax agreement in July. According to Charania, the deal—the wealthiest in league history—will come with a trade kicker and be fully guaranteed. However, there won’t be a player option in the final year.
After winning All-NBA accolades this season, Brown—whose previous contract was below both his max and his market value—became eligible for a supermax extension. Although he is not the highest-paid player in the league, he is in the top 3 list.

Jaylen was always destined towards the top and his contract extension is the proof that he lived up to many expectations that were bestowed upon him. The ownership of the Celtics has made it known that they wish to retain Brown and Tatum. In terms of relevance to this team, Brown deserves to feel as though he is standing with Tatum rather than behind him, and this new contract extension washes off all those doubts.
Tatum, 25, and Brown, 26, rank among the best two-man teams in the league. Breaking up this young duo is difficult to even consider unless Brown really wants to move out of Boston. He must be prepared to accept the position the team assigns him now that he has made the decision to stay for the foreseeable future.
