Amir Albazi and Kai Kara France made headlines on Saturday through their bout at UFC Vegas 74. Albazi won the fight via a split decision, which turned into a nightmare for the judges. The decision turned out to be more controversial.
Looking at the stats, Amir came into the match with a record of 16-1. Whereas France on the other hand possessed a record of 24-10 before the bout.
The judges for the main event, Chris Lee, Sal D’Amato, and Mike Bell, agreed on the results of three rounds out of five. Among the three, the victory of rounds 2 and 3 was awarded to Air Albazi with a score of 10-9. Whereas judges scored France for the last round with a score of 10-9 as well.

The former interim flyweight champion delivered 99 significant strikes out of the 283 attempted. On the other side of the Octagon, Albazi landed 43 significant strikes out of the attempted 145. In terms of takedown, Kara France landed both of his attempted takedowns, whereas the Iraqi fighter was able to land just one takedown out of his attempted 9.
In terms of final scores, Lee and D’Amato scored Albazi’s performance at 48-47. And Bell had the same score for France.

The decision made by judges resulted in an uproar on the internet. Fans all over the world have taken social media by storm, claiming that the Kiwi fighter was robbed.
Several popular faces of UFC, like Israel Adesanya and more have posted regarding the same. Israel Adesanya is a fellow teammate of Kai Kara France. Both the fighters train at the City Kickboxing Gyn at Aukland run by Eugene Bareman. Hence Adesanya took to his Twitter handle to express his disdain regarding the decision.
